About the Role: We’re seeking a highly skilled Tax Planning & Preparation Professional to join our team on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves strategy as much as execution — you’ll help our clients build and implement tailored tax plans throughout the year and then manage their filings during tax season. Key Responsibilities: Summer/Fall (Planning Phase): • Review and analyze clients’ prior-year tax returns to identify planning opportunities and exposures • Project full-year 2026 tax outcomes based on current financials and assumptions • Design and document customized tax plans that align with client goals and structures • Lead quarterly check-ins with clients to: • Track progress on implementation • Reassess assumptions and strategy • Discuss outstanding items and next steps • Provide updated insights based on tax law changes or business developments Tax Season (Execution Phase): • Prepare and file accurate federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and S corporations • Reconcile tax return positions with strategic plans created earlier in the year • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients to manage deliverables and deadlines Ideal Candidate Qualifications: • CPA or EA required • 5+ years of experience in advanced tax strategy and compliance • Deep knowledge of small business, real estate, and high-net-worth individual tax matters • Strong written and verbal communication skills for client-facing interactions • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and follow-through • Tech-savvy; comfortable using GSuite, Karbon, ProConnect, Quickbooks, or similar tools • Self-starter who thrives in a high-growth, remote work environment Why Join Us? • Join a high-caliber team with Big 4 and investment banking backgrounds • Flexible, remote-first work environment • Make a meaningful impact for small businesses, founders, and real estate investors • Long-term opportunity with room to grow as our firm expands • A team culture that values initiative, excellence, and work-life balance Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal, Contract, Temporary Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week Benefits: • Flexible schedule • Work from home Application Question(s): • Describe your experience related to this role • Why do you want to work for sebCFO?
