[Remote] Threat Intelligence Analyst (Quantitative Methods)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Moonshot is currently recruiting an Analyst to support delivery of threat intelligence reports monitoring online targeted violence in the US. You will analyze discourse across online spaces to identify patterns and threats to public officials, vulnerable communities, and critical infrastructure. Responsibilities • Continuous monitoring of TV-relevant online spaces to identify threats toward public officials, vulnerable communities, and critical infrastructure • Drafting weekly intelligence reports and flash bulletins with clear evidence-based sections and analytical assessments • Identification, collection and analysis of information from a range of data sources, including social media, violent extremist materials and other data sources covered by our in-house tools • Maintaining databases and conducting regular reviews of social media and messaging platforms for inclusion into the project • Designing quantitative and qualitative research methods to collect and analyze large datasets • Researching and drafting deep dives into trends and themes identified in online extremist ecosystems • Working to demanding, high-tempo reporting schedules for clients • Developing and sharing subject matter expertise related to violent extremism and online harms across the organization • Presenting findings verbally to clients, tailoring the content to their needs to support their strategic understanding • Anticipating potential barriers to the delivery of the project and identifying workable solutions; taking responsibility for improvements to processes • Building relationships with clients, and supporting our business development by exploring and identifying opportunities for new projects of work that will be of interest to them Skills • Intermediate-to-advanced quantitative skills or qualifications in quantitative methods • Background in analyzing large, extremism-related social media datasets • Experience using Python and Tableau/Kibana • Experience in continuous monitoring of online spaces to identify threats • Ability to draft intelligence reports and flash bulletins with evidence-based sections • Experience in identification, collection and analysis of information from various data sources • Ability to maintain databases and conduct regular reviews of social media and messaging platforms • Experience in designing quantitative and qualitative research methods • Ability to research and draft deep dives into trends and themes in online extremist ecosystems • Ability to work to demanding, high-tempo reporting schedules • Ability to develop and share subject matter expertise related to violent extremism and online harms • Ability to present findings verbally to clients • Ability to anticipate potential barriers to project delivery and identify workable solutions • Ability to build relationships with clients and support business development • Candidates based in DC, Atlanta or Denver Company Overview • Moonshot grows a community of BIPOC & historically marginalized leaders with the skills and resources to design collaborative solutions that disrupt systemic inequities impacting youth.
