Senior Development Manager, Grants & Strategic Partnerships
The Senior Development Manager, Grants & Strategic Partnerships is a hands-on revenue-generating role. This individual is responsible for identifying, writing, submitting, securing, and managing funding across three key areas: Grants (foundation, corporate, government) Individual and institutional fundraising corporate sponsorships and partnerships. This role owns outcomes, not just activity. Description Key Responsibilities Grants • Research, write, submit, and secure grants from foundations, corporations, and government entities. • Manage the full grant lifecycle: prospecting, LOIs, proposals, budgets, reporting, and renewals. • Collaborate with leadership and program teams to ensure alignment with funder priorities. • Track deadlines, compliance requirements, and reporting timelines. Fundraising • Develop and execute fundraising strategies that generate unrestricted and program-specific revenue. • Write compelling fundraising appeals, donor communications, and campaign narratives. • Cultivate and steward individual donors and institutional funders. • Support fundraising tied to events, programs, and national campaigns. Sponsorships & Partnerships • Identify, pitch, and secure corporate sponsorships aligned with BHA’s mission. • Write sponsorship proposals, decks, and partnership agreements. • Build and manage long-term corporate and healthcare partnerships. • Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors, ensuring fulfillment and relationship growth. Revenue Ownership • Own annual revenue targets tied to grants, fundraising, and sponsorships. • Maintain a clear pipeline of prospects and opportunities. • Track and report on funds secured, proposals submitted, and conversion rates. Qualifications • Proven experience securing funding, not just applying. • Demonstrated success in grant writing with awards secured. • Experience closing corporate sponsorships or partnerships. • Strong writing skills with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences. • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and self-directed. • Comfortable working in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment. • Alignment with Black Heart Association’s values of CARE (Compassion, Affirmation, Respect, Encouragement) and No CAP culture. Preferred Experience • Experience in health equity, public health, community-based organizations, or healthcare nonprofits. • Familiarity with compliance requirements for corporate and pharmaceutical funding. • Experience working directly with executive leadership. • Track record of securing mid-to-large gifts ($25,000+). Performance Expectations • Secure funding within the first 90–120 days. • Maintain an active pipeline of grant and sponsorship opportunities. • Meet or exceed agreed-upon revenue goals. • Build sustainable funding relationships, not one-time wins.
