Senior Engineer, Data (Remote - US)

TheSenior Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale data solutions to support analytics, business intelligence, and enterprise data management. You will lead efforts to modernize data pipelines, data warehouses, and datalakes while ensuring bolthires-efficient and secure cloud operations. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to align data architecture with business goals and healthcare data standards.You will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and big data systems to enable data-driven decision-making. Accountabilities• Architect, design, and implement datalakes, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines for enterprise-scale analytics. • Deploy and manage secure, bolthires-effective AWS (or cloud) environments across multiple availability zones and regions.• Collaborate with internal departments and business stakeholders to define strategic data architecture and roadmap improvements. • Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize complex business programs and data processes. • Ensure alignment of enterprise data with standards such as FHIR for healthcare applications. • Evaluate and recommend OSS/COTS solutions to enhance data operations and governance. • Participate in the full software development lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, and support. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.• 8+ years of experience in software and data engineering with leadership on large-scale projects. • Strong expertise in big data technologies, cloud architecture (AWS preferred), and bolthires-conscious cloud design. • Proficiency with PostgreSQL, ETL development, S3, Lambda, RDS, Glue, CloudWatch. • Experience with AWS database tools, cloud deployment, and secure data management. • Familiarity with healthcare or sensitive data (PHI/PII) and standards such as FHIR. • Preferred skills: Python, TypeScript, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS Code Pipeline, Secrets Manager, Route53, CloudFormation, DataBricks.• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Competitive salary: $128,700–$153,400 USD/year. • Four weeks paid time off and 10 company holidays annually. • Flexible schedule with remote-first work environment. • $3,000 annual education stipend and professional development opportunities. • Full work-from-home setup, including MacBook. • Medical, dental, vision insurance (company-paid), optional HSA with company contribution. • Company-paid life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance.• 401K plan with 3% safe harbor contribution. • Wellness resources, virtual care, and employee discounts.
