Sr. UI/UX Developer (Shopify Exp Mandatory) || Remote ||
Client is looking for a Sr. UI/UX Developer, to design and build new feature sets and interfaces and to resolve bugs on our eCommerce technology stack based on Shopify. As a member working in an Agile team environment, this person will work with product managers on wireframes and creative designs, and will work with solution architects and developers on turning business requirements into functional requirements and subsequently into technical deliverables. Job FunctionsDesign and wireframe new features for our eCommerce technology stackBuild from scratch or modify existing cutting-edge features for our eCommerce technology stackProvide technical support or leadership in the development and continual improvement of serviceWork closely within a cross-functional teamContribute fully-baked, well-tested featuresWrite and develop technical solutionsProvide estimates to the required level of accuracy for stories and tasksTest deliverables against a user story's acceptance criteriaCreate technical documentationDesign and build theme features that are scalable across various designs and requirementsDesign features in Figma for our internal tooling as part of the eCommerce technology stackBuild website features that are accessible and compliant with requirements across different countriesBuild performant website features, utilizing best practicesBuild website features that work across various browsersBuild themes that utilize the latest Shopify technology, including section and theme blocks, and utilizing Section Rendering API and core search, discovery and filtering capabilitiesDesigning and building features into pre-existing structures, while adhering to current UI/UX designsDemonstrate ability to write clear, concise and well documented codeTurn feature requests and user stories into wireframes/designs in Figma, with the understanding that it needs to be adaptable to various website designsImprove design fundamentals and user experience of the Shopify ThemeBuild UI Extensions for Checkout Extensibilty and Customer AccountsBuild dataLayer events to push to GTMSkills/Abilities8+ years of work experience in software design and development, and hands-on experience in building UI heavy experiences.NecessaryStrong proficiency in modern design patterns and development languages including JavaScript, Typescript (and React), HTML and CSS, LiquidStrong proficiency in Figma and design principlesExperienced with writing custom Web ComponentsExperience working in large-scale international eCommerce teamsSolid grounding with common design patterns and development best practicesAbility to problem solve, and execute tasks with accuracy in a high-pressure, fast-paced agile environmentCustomer-first mentality with ability to empathize and create customer loyaltyCapable of learning new technologies and platforms quickly and able to apply them to solve complex problemsExperience with version control systems (Bitbucket/GitHub)Experience working within an agile teamNice to haveExperience with unit testing and PlaywrightAbility to write unit tests when implementing user stories.Develop code for testabilityKnowledge and understanding of how Shopify Pixel, and tracking in Checkout Extensibility worksExperience with Shopify Checkout UI ExtensionsExperience using Section Rendering API to update parts of a page without reloading the full pageExperience with bolthires/CD tools, including Github ActionsEducationBachelor's in computer science, related field, or equivalent demonstrableexperience.
