Staff Attorney 15/16 - Environment, Natural Resources, and Agriculture Division
About the positionResponsibilities• Provide legal services to the Departments of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy; Natural Resources; and Agriculture and Rural Development. • Offer day-to-day legal advice to state agencies, boards, commissions, and officers. • Represent the state in administrative proceedings and courts. • Handle assignments of limited factual and legal complexity with substantial supervision. • Work on matters involving American Indian law and the Land Division Act. Requirements• Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law.• Membership in good standing in the Michigan State Bar. • For Attorney-Senior 16, four years of post-bar admission legal experience. Nice-to-haves• Experience in environmental law or related fields. • Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations.
