Telemetry Nurse (RN) in Richmond, VA

Provide specialized nursing care in a dynamic telemetry unit dedicated to acute and stepdown patients, including post-cardiac catheterization, stroke, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure cases. This contract opportunity offers the chance to apply your expertise in a fast-paced environment, working with sophisticated monitoring equipment and a collaborative healthcare team. Key Qualifications and Experience: • Current RN licensure, state-specific or compact, with at least one year of recent acute care RN experience • Telemetry experience required; one year of travel nursing experience preferred • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale certification, with additional certifications such as CCRN or PCCN being advantageous • EPIC Electronic Health Record experience preferred • Ability to manage advanced drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Heparin) and utilize telemetry and hemodynamic monitoring equipment • Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions Location Overview: Richmond, VA, offers a blend of historic charm and modern amenities. Responsibilities: • Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and continuously evaluate patient responses • Administer medications following safe nursing practices and protocols • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and advocate for patient and family needs • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold patient safety standards • Assist in orienting and educating staff, demonstrating leadership in clinical practice Assignment Details: • Location: Richmond, VA (travel candidates must reside at least 50 miles away) • Unit: Telemetry, mixed Med/Surg float potential • Shift: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend and major holidays required • Equipment: Alaris pumps, LifPak Defibrillators, Hoyer lifts, Glucometers, Dynamaps, Kangaroo pumps • Patient population includes pre/post cardiac cath, stroke, atrial fibrillation, CHF exacerbations This position is a contract travel assignment, providing an excellent opportunity to expand your professional experience in a supportive clinical environment.
