Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Virtual School Social Worker Position Available in Lansing MI VocoVision specializes in connecting schools with exceptional remote service providers across multiple disciplines, we're currently seeking school social workers ready to serve Michigan students through virtual platforms. This position allows you to leverage your clinical skills while enjoying the benefits of working from home! This is a full-time virtual role serving approximately 50 students across various grade levels (typically K-8).Your weekly commitment is 35 hours of direct service and documentation time. Students require support across a range of areas including behavioral intervention, counseling services, crisis support, and connections to community resources. The virtual format allows you to serve students across different school buildings while maintaining consistent therapeutic relationships. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct thorough social-emotional and behavioral assessments using evidence-based screening tools... Develop and implement individualized intervention plans addressing each student's specific needs and circumstances...Provide individual counseling sessions focusing on skill-building in emotional regulation, social competence, coping strategies and self-advocacy... Facilitate group counseling sessions on topics relevant to student needs such as friendship skills, anger management, grief and loss, or anxiety management. Participate actively in IEP team meetings, contributing valuable insights about students' social-emotional functioning and needed supports. Maintain collaborative relationships with teachers, administrators and families to ensure coordinated support approaches.Crisis intervention is a critical component - you'll need to assess risk, implement safety protocols and coordinate with school teams and families during emergency situations. Connecting families with external resources (mental health services, basic needs assistance, parent support programs) helps address barriers to student success. Comprehensive documentation of all services, progress notes and outcome data keeps everyone informed and accountable!
