Actuarial Analyst | Combo Plans
About the positionResponsibilities• Initiation of benefit calculations, including requests for election kits• Serve as the administrator and point of contact for retirement plans with small business clients and advisors that have a combination of a 401(K) Plan and Solo Plan, traditional Defined Benefit Plan and/or Cash Balance Plan (combo plans)• Effectively communicate combo plan recordkeeping processes with the client• Proactively request information and alert clients to combo plans operational and compliance matters• Coordinate with other team members as required for support on plan administration• Data reconciliation• Determination of minimum, maximum, and recommended annual plan contributions• Preparation of actuarial communications related to IRS funding rules and regulations• Preparation of accounting reports for plan and company financial statements• Preparation of government filings, including Form 5500 (and schedules), PBGC premium determination, and Form 8955-SSA• Preparation of required DOL notices such as the Annual Funding Notice• Other projects such as Form 4010 filings, plan design changes and audit support• Additional responsibilities as assignedRequirements• High School Diploma or GED• At least three years of professional, pension experience• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of industry and professional concepts, principles, practices, and procedures• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and professional standards• Proficient use of applicable technology• Proficient use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and enterprise communication and travel solutions (Concur, Skype)• Experience performing work that requires initiative and leadership skills• Ability to anticipate and elicit customer needs• Ability to self-learn and develop business and technical knowledge quickly• Motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills• Comfortable working with quick turnaround times and deadlines• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization• Capacity to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations, and with various individuals or groups• Display innovative ideas and solutions and capacity to identify and eliminate redundant work efforts and inefficient processes• Ability to travel as necessaryNice-to-haves• Bachelor's in actuarial science or Business Administration• At least three years of professional Combo Plan experience• Ability to explain complex combo plan design and compliance items in a clear and understandable manner including how the plans will interact• Familiarity with Pension Guarantee Benefit Corporation (PBGC) requirements and filing• Understand and proficiently explain Beginning of Year versus End of Year Valuation Reporting• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization Apply tot his job
