This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: Colorado (USA) Job Title: Data Engineer (Remote) Position Type: Contract (09-15-2025 - 03-31-2026) Primary Skills: Engineering Location: Frisco, TX Job Description Engineers in this role accomplish business objectives by monitoring system functions from all points of system processing, identifying, and assisting in solving processing problems. The engineer works closely with internal partners and external clients by providing technical assistance on products and services, department reporting and process trending. They are responsible for otimizing Python/PySpark in a Hadoop ecosystem. Working with large data sets and pipelines using tools and libraries of Hadoop ecosystem such as Spark, HDFS, YARN, Hive and Oozie. Designing and developing cloud applications: AWS, OCI or similar. Required Skills - • Create and execute complex SQL queries. • Demonstrates subject matter expertise in relation to Data Mapping, Programming, and Ingestion workflows. • Demonstrates subject matter expertise in relation to data analysis, data mining an investigation using SQL and/or Oracle. • Can independently deploy, configure, monitor production solutions and services while working mentor others to do the same. • Serve as a change agent to identify organizational improvements and make recommendations to improve business processes. Job Duties - • Create and execute complex SQL queries. • Demonstrates subject matter expertise in relation to Data Mapping, Programming, and Ingestion workflows. • Demonstrates subject matter expertise in relation to data analysis, data mining an investigation using SQL and/or Oracle. • Can independently deploy, configure, monitor production solutions and services while working mentor others to do the same. • Serve as a change agent to identify organizational improvements and make recommendations to improve business processes. • Validate new tech requirements are properly integrated within existing processes and product functionality. • Write technical defect requirements, SOP creation and updates. • Train and mentor new system analysts. • Ability to participate in project meetings contributing to the SDLC. • Troubleshoots and provides solutions for complex problems. • Provide technical operational expertise when working with Engineering teams to troubleshoot issues or building requirements for new functionality. • Leverages multi-disciplinary knowledge to develop innovative ideas. • Contributes to the productivity of the organization through the completion of projects associated with departmental objectives. • Provide off-hour support as needed. • Demonstrates an ability to work independently in all areas of job expectations. • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual Performance Plan. • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned. • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Job Requirements - • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science or Engineering. • 5+ years' experience with data aggregation, standardization, linking, quality check mechanisms, and reporting. • 5+ years' experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL Server), Columnar databases (Vertica, Redshift), and data integration/ETL tools (Talend, Pentaho). • Familiar with programming language, operating systems, computer hardware platforms – not responsible in actual hardware/software development – such as: • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Visio) • UNIX/Linux • XML • Understanding of relational databases and familiar with ETL database functions. • Demonstrated experience in data production environment supporting. • Familiar with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process. • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
