About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Remote Call Center Customer Service Representative to join our team, providing support to Medicaid members in the State of Iowa. As the initial point of contact for inquiries, you will provide one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees, ensuring that all interactions are handled with empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities: Act as the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program recipients and affiliates. Provide clear, complete, accurate, and objective information based on a full understanding of program requirements. Accurately document enrollment requests and status changes, entering application and enrollment information into a web-based computer system for customers wishing to apply for the program over the telephone. Maintain technical and program policy proficiency in the Medicaid rules/guidelines and other related program policies. Provide exceptional customer service skills, excellent phone etiquette, and reliable internet access to ensure seamless communication with our clients. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: A basic understanding of a call center environment in a customer service role and quality monitoring processes. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, beneficiaries, and co-workers. Ability to problem-solve through analysis and ongoing feedback, achieving results through knowledge, empathy, and commitment. High School diploma or GED, with a background check required. Must reside within 1 hour driving distance from Des Moines, IA, with reliable transportation to pick up equipment from the Des Moines office. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent typing and grammar skills, with the ability to navigate a computer and understand/utilize policy. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, adhering to a break and lunch schedule, and maintaining a high level of productivity in a remote work environment. Prior experience in a customer service role, preferably in a call center environment, with a strong understanding of quality monitoring processes.
