Instructional Designer with Nursing curriculum design experience
About theRole:We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer (ID) with a background in Nursing curriculum design to support the development of high-quality learning content for healthcare and nursing education programs for one of our USA-based clients.. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nursing concepts, adult learning principles, and modern instructional design methodologies. Key Responsibilities:• Design and develop instructionally sound learning materials for nursing programs across undergraduate, graduate, and professional development levels.• Create course blueprints, storyboards, learning objectives, assessments, instructor guides, and multimedia scripts. • Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Nursing, Healthcare, and Allied Sciences to ensure content accuracy and relevance. • Align curriculum with accreditation requirements, program outcomes, and industry standards. • Convert complex nursing content into clear, engaging, and learner-centric materials. • Ensure all deliverables follow quality, compliance, and accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG).• Work with cross-functional teams including project managers, editors, and multimedia teams. • Review existing courses and recommend improvements based on learner feedback and analytics. RequiredQualifications:• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Nursing, Education, or a related field. • 3–7+ years of hands-on Instructional Design experience, preferably in higher education or healthcare. • Proven experience designing curricula for Nursing programs (RN, BSN, MSN, DNP, or specialized tracks).• Strong knowledge of ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, backward design, and adult learning theory. • Experience developing online learning using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, or similar. • Excellent writing, communication, and collaboration skills. PreferredQualifications:• Licensed RN or advanced nursing degree (BSN/MSN) — highly desirable. • Experience with competency-based education (CBE). • Familiarity with accreditation standards (CCNE, ACEN). • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, or D2L.What We’re Looking For:• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment. • A creative problem-solver who can simplify complex nursing concepts for diverse learner groups.
