Bookkeeper for High-Growth Founder (Business + Personal, DTC/eComm Familiarity Preferred) - Contract to Hire

I’m the founder of a fast-scaling e-commerce brand doing 8-figures in annual revenue. We process a high volume of daily orders across Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop, PayPal, AfterPay, and multiple merchant processors (Maverick, Authorize.net). I also have personal accounts and Amex cards that need proper bookkeeping separation from business. I’m looking for a high-level bookkeeper who can help me clean up, organize, and maintain both business and personal books in a way that’s rock-solid, audit-proof, and makes life easier for me and my finance team. ⸻ Responsibilities: • Full reconciliation of business revenue across platforms (including missed/declined transactions) • Clean up and maintain books for: • Maverick, PayPal, AfterPay, Authorize.net • Shopify and Amazon payouts • Amex and other business/personal credit cards • Separate personal vs business expenses • Identify and flag payment discrepancies and lost revenue • Work with our finance lead to keep P&Ls accurate • Keep QuickBooks (or similar) fully up-to-date weekly • Prepare monthly financial reports ⸻ ✅ Must-Have Skills: • Senior-level bookkeeping experience with e-commerce brands • Experience reconciling across multiple processors and payment gateways • Understands Shopify, Amazon payouts, refunds, chargebacks • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero • Understands how to structure books for both taxes and investor readiness • Attention to detail — if something looks off, I want you catching it before I do Estimated Time & Budget: • Initial cleanup (first 6 weeks): ~10–15 hrs/week • Ongoing maintenance: ~4–6 hrs/week • Hourly rate: $45–$55/hr depending on experience ⸻ Bonus if you: • Have worked with fast-scaling Shopify brands ($500K+/month) • Are comfortable auditing statements and working with financial tools • Can help build simple SOPs for finance workflows Apply tot his job
