About the position Responsibilities • Coordinates the activity and day-to-day operations of security dispatchers and security staff on assigned shift. • Provides guidance and leadership to security dispatchers regarding departmental issues, including enforcement of policies and procedures and security services provided. • Evaluates incidents of a serious security or sensitive nature and takes appropriate action, including response and notifications and advises security leadership of all notable incidents. • Ensures all security dispatcher reports are complete and correct within established time frame. • Supports leadership in emergency response and related preparedness drills. • Ensures all dispatchers complete required annual certifications and training requirements within required time. • Works in collaboration with Security leadership overseeing the scheduling of personnel. • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and communication style. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements • High School diploma or equivalent. • 5 years of Dispatcher experience. • Valid driver's license in the state of practice. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association to be obtained within 30 days of hire. • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire. • International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security Supervisor Course (IAHSS) certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire. • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. • Organizational skills.
