Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students in a variety of settings Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of students Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational environment Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor A New Jersey Substitute Credential A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in education, particularly in a substitute teaching role Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Experience with classroom management and behavior support Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to have a range of skills and competencies, including: Communication skills : The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Classroom management skills : The ability to manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Lesson planning skills : The ability to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of students Flexibility and adaptability : The ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational environment Emotional intelligence : The ability to understand and manage your own emotions, as well as those of your students Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we are committed to supporting the career growth and development of our Substitute Teachers.
