About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Lincoln Park, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer competitive pay rates, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and support you need to excel in the classroom and make a positive impact on the lives of your students. Key Responsibilities: Teach a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies, to students of different ages and skill levels Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of your students Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge Essential Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you will need: An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor A NJ Substitute Credential A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications: While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Previous teaching experience, particularly in a substitute or long-term capacity Special education experience or training Bilingual or multilingual skills Experience working with students of different ages and skill levels A strong understanding of curriculum development and implementation Skills and Competencies: To succeed as a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will need: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to think critically and solve problems effectively A strong sense of adaptability and flexibility The ability to work independently and as part of a team A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development A passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of your students Career Growth Opportunities: At Scoot Education, we are committed to helping our substitutes grow and develop in their careers.
