About the positionZions Bancorporation is currently hiring a Model Risk Analyst to ! The position will be located in our downtown SLC office and will offer a flexible work schedule, with the option to work fully remote, 3/2 hybrid, or fully in-office. The purpose of Model Risk Management (MRM) is to provide comprehensive guidance and oversight for effective management of model risk. Zions Bancorporation, N.A. (Bank) relies heavily on quantitative analysis and models in many aspects of financial and strategic decision-making.Models are routinely used for a broad range of activities, including underwriting; valuing exposures, instruments and positions; measuring risk; managing and safeguarding client assets; determining capital and reserve adequacy; and many other activities. The successful applicant will play a critical role in the Company's process for independently managing model risk. The environment is dynamic, as model assessment work will involve multiple areas of the bank (credit, operations, interest-rate risk).Responsibilities• Conducting thorough validation and testing of models to assess their accuracy, performance, and suitability for intended purposes. • Summarizing work in formal written reports. • Prioritizing and negotiating resolution of identified model issues. • Partnering with business units to monitor ongoing model performance. • Continually staying abreast of the industry's advancements in quantitative modeling and measurement of risks. Requirements• PhD or MS degree in Statistics, Business, Finance, Economics, or other related field.• 4+ years experience in financial and/or statistical analysis, quantitative modeling, risk measurement statistical analysis, or other quantitative disciplines. • Extensive understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics. • Ability to develop financial/statistical models and understand statistical tests of Model performance. • Advanced skills with quantitative modeling tools to perform model diagnostic/replication work and to process and examine large quantities of data (Python, R, SAS, Matlab, SQL).• Proficiency using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams). • Strong communication skills (written and verbal). • Ability to work constructively with a variety of departments and to persuasively present recommendations and work results.
