NYC Legal Researcher Needed - DSNY Sticker/Posting Violation Enforcement

Remote Full-time
I need a legal researcher with access to NYC municipal records to investigate the enforcement history of illegal posting/sticker violations in New York City. What I Need: Research and document the most recent cases where businesses, vendors, or individuals received fines or were sued for violating NYC Admin Code §10-119 (illegal posting of handbills/notices/stickers on public or private property). Specific Deliverables: 1. The most recent documented case(s) of a business/company being fined for sticker or poster campaigns in NYC (not individuals, not political campaigns - specifically commercial/business marketing) 2. Any lawsuits filed by NYC against companies for guerrilla sticker/poster marketing violations in the past 5 years 3. Total number of §10-119 violations issued by DSNY in the past 12-24 months (if available) 4. Any documented enforcement actions against startups or tech companies for street marketing campaigns 5. Examples of fine amounts actually paid (not just statutory amounts) for posting violations Databases/Sources You Should Have Access To: ∙ NYC Open Data portal (OATH/ECB violation records) ∙ NYC OATH Hearings Division case records ∙ PACER or NY state court records (for any civil litigation) ∙ NYC Department of Sanitation enforcement records ∙ LexisNexis, Westlaw, or Bloomberg Law (for case law) ∙ NYC ECB violation database Ideal Candidate: ∙ Paralegal, law student, or legal researcher based in NYC (preferred but not required) ∙ Experience with NYC administrative law or municipal code violations ∙ Access to legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.) ∙ Familiarity with OATH/ECB hearing records ∙ Ability to start TODAY or tomorrow ∙ Can deliver preliminary findings within 48 hours Deliverable Format: A brief report (2-5 pages) with: ∙ Summary of findings ∙ Specific case citations with dates ∙ Links to source documents where available ∙ Your assessment of how actively this law is being enforced against businesses Why This Matters: I’m evaluating risk for a marketing campaign and need hard data on actual enforcement patterns, not just what the law says on paper. I want to know: when was the last time a business actually got hit for this, and what happened to them? To Apply: Please include: 1. Your experience with NYC legal research or administrative law 2. Which databases you have access to 3. Your availability to start immediately 4. A brief description of how you’d approach this research Timeline: Need preliminary findings within 48-72 hours. Willing to pay rush fee for faster turnaround. Apply tot his job
