Product & Underwriting Analyst |Remote OpportunityDescription: Reporting to the Vice President, Product & Underwriting, this position focuses on researching new underwriting regulatory compliance and filings for Cerity's product offerings, and providing the requirements for same to engineering. #LI-Remote #LP22• Works with VP of Product and Underwriting and Underwriting Analysts to establish, monitor and amend underwriting strategy, standards and processes as they relate to compliance with Federal, State, Bureau and internal regulations.• Lead Bureau & DOI regulatory changes assessment, their impact on Cerity, and write business requirements to enable system configurations as needed. • Lead research for new underwriting strategies to best position company for Profit and Growth. • Conduct analysis on Cerity's book of business - from new business conversion ratios through renewals; identify areas of improvement and create recommendations for process, product and pricing improvements. • Lead the development of proprietary product and underwriting rule filings to differentiate Cerity's offering in the marketplace.• Analyze Cerity configuration relative to monthly rate, rule and form changes, select areas of adoption, and preserve Cerity custom configuration. • Lead the rate review process, working with Actuarial, Underwriting and Back-End Developers to ensure successful execution of changes. • Make necessary form changes and provide complete requirements to internal and external engineering teams to ensure Cerity's configuration matches its filings. • Manage the product filing lifecycle and manage vendor relationships on same from start to finish.• Owns all business requirements artifacts that serve as Cerity's definitive source for rate, price, rule, and form configuration - at a state level. • Own Cerity's filings from creation, through submission, and ultimately approval - keep all stakeholders continually advised. • Research competitors' rating plans and complete analyses comparing our rates to those of our competitors and recommending changes as needed. • Perform other research and analysis as directed by management. • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and understanding of our products and their relationship to those of our competitors.• Support state team as liaison with the various departments of insurance and rating bureaus. Qualifications:• 2 years or more of insurance related work experience, preferably in product or compliance. • Bachelor's degree; business or quantitative field preferred. Avanced degree also preferred. • Understanding of the insurance industry and underwriting concepts desired. • Demonstrates strong ability to communicate complex insurance requirements and information in understandable written and/or oral directives for underwriting, training, or system automation.• Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills at any level of an organization: senior leadership, technical/development staff, service reps. • Excellent organizational skills as well as attention to detail.
