[Remote] Financial Controller (US CPA)

They are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller with an active US CPA license to oversee financial structure, compliance, and coordination across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions of tax filings and financial documentation. Responsibilities• Multi-Entity Financial Oversight & Structuring• Manage and advise on financial and tax implications across interrelated entities.• Track and oversee intercompany balances, including proper treatment of amounts owed between entities before year-end closing. • Provide guidance on maintaining clean, logical categorization in QuickBooks and advise on best practices for QBO migration. • Maintain a clear, accurate, and up-to-date view of the financial structure so leadership always knows:• What is happening across entities• What major transactions mean• What deadlines and risks exist• Tax Compliance Coordination• Serve as the first line of review for all tax filings and forms — federal, state, Puerto Rico, and other required returns.• Coordinate proactively with external tax preparers/agencies to ensure documents are accurate, complete, and submitted well before deadlines. • Build a living calendar of all filing deadlines, payments, and compliance activities. • Identify risks early and notify leadership with recommended actions. • Review filings page-by-page and flag errors, inconsistencies, or missing information. • Documentation Readiness & Year-End Prep• Gather, validate, and organize all documents external CPAs need before they ask.• Oversee and manage data for 1099s/PR 480.6 forms, audits, and other annual reporting across all entities. • Maintain organized financial documentation that supports audits and future tax seasons. • Hands-On Accounting Work• Build and maintain spreadsheets, reconciliations, schedules, and workpapers. • Validate categories, entries, and documentation prepared by bookkeeping/AP teams. • Dive directly into numbers — you will not be delegating this work. • Problem-solve issues as they emerge, without adding new bureaucratic layers.Skills• Active US CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is required• Previous experience in Controllership,Senior accounting, Multi-entity financial management in the e-commerce industry or multi-entity business structures• Proven experience acting as both managerial thinker and hands-on executor• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP• Ability to interpret complex tax documents, filings, and multi-entity flows• Exceptional attention to detail• High integrity and trustworthiness• Experience with Puerto Rico tax/compliance is good to have• Experience with QuickBooks Online migration is good to have• Experience coordinating with multiple CPA firms simultaneouslyCompany Overview• It was founded in undefined, and is headquartered in, with a workforce of 51-200 employees.Its website is Apply tot his job
