[Remote] HR Compliance Director

Note:The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Principal Financial Group is seeking a strategic, compliance-minded leader to join their team as a Director - HR Compliance. This role will ensure HR operations align with applicable laws and regulations while partnering with business units to strengthen the compliance framework. Responsibilities• Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer to implement, and oversee HR compliance policies and procedures• Lead compliance risk assessments and conduct testing to identify and address program gaps• Build and refine the HR Compliance Program with a strategic, cross-functional lens• Provide expert legal and technical advice on employment laws, contract provisions, and HR regulations• Serve as a compliance advisor on major business initiatives and projects• Mentor team members and deliver training that reinforces a culture of compliance• Explore automation opportunities to enhance compliance oversight and efficiency• Assist in SBCU compliance effortsSkills• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent• 8+ years of relevant experience in compliance, employment law, or risk management (JD or MBA may substitute for some experience).• Deep knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and the regulatory landscape. • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. • Experience in compliance reporting and driving cross-functional collaboration. • Travel occasionally as needed for business needs. • Proven experience building or significantly enhancing a compliance program is highly preferred. • Project management capabilities are a plus.
