As a Product Designer, you will design user-centered solutions that drive product-led growth and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences for legal and accounting firms. Responsibilities • Translate business and product objectives into user-centered solutions that directly influence growth metrics such as activation, conversion, retention, and self-serve adoption • Design and iterate on features, including those powered by AI or automation, that deliver clear customer value and improve efficiency • Optimize user journeys to help customers discover, adopt, and gain value from key product capabilities • Work closely with other designers to align on direction, patterns, and opportunities to elevate the user experience • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, User Researchers, Content Designers, and key stakeholders throughout the discovery, design, and development lifecycle • Collaborate closely with Engineers by providing clear design intent, prototypes, flows, and specifications to support accurate, high-quality implementation • Develop a strong understanding of user goals, workflows, and pain points through research collaboration, customer feedback, and product data • Advocate for accessible, intuitive, and consistent experiences that build trust in a fintech environment • Ensure that user needs are addressed through cohesive end-to-end journeys that support clarity, efficiency, and confidence across the platform • Create thoughtful design deliverables across the product lifecycle, including concepts, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready UI • Contribute to the evolution and scaling of our design system, ensuring patterns remain efficient, maintainable, and consistent across teams • Maintain a high bar for visual design, interaction clarity, usability, and polish • Take ownership of your problem spaces and proactively identify opportunities to simplify workflows and improve user outcomes • Communicate design decisions and tradeoffs clearly, balancing user needs with business goals and technical considerations • Seek out innovative approaches and contribute new ideas that elevate both the product and the overall quality of design craft, continuously looking for ways to refine, improve, and push the experience forward Skills • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • 2 to 5 years of product or UX design experience • Strong portfolio showcasing your craft, process, and impact across product flows • Experience designing for complex or data-heavy workflows; fintech experience strongly preferred • Demonstrated ability to influence product-led growth outcomes, including activation, onboarding, conversion, or retention • Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system • High proficiency in Figma • Familiarity with common research and testing methods, including supporting or running usability tests, participating in interviews, synthesizing insights, and using customer feedback or analytics to inform design decisions • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation • Experience designing for SaaS, legaltech, or products supporting professional workflows • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, or data-driven optimization • Experience working with large-scale or multi-product design systems • Exposure to automation or AI-enhanced workflows Benefits • Health Insurance Coverage: We offer our 8Team a variety of medical, dental, and vision plans, designed to fit your needs, including a 100% company-paid HDHP plan for employees. • Financial perks: We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package including annual bonuses, equity options and 401(k) or RRSP if in Canada, with a company match for all team members. • Time for what matters: Flexible Time Off, paid holidays, and a parental leave program for our new parents. • Wellness: Wellness stipends, mental health support, and one-on-one nutrition coaching. • Learning and Development: Continuous learning through 8am.edu, leadership programs, professional development funds, and individually focused talent development. • Giving back to the communities around us: Participate in our charitable matching gift program, paid time off for volunteer service, and company-sponsored volunteer events (both local and virtually). • Engagement: Virtual and in-person team-building events, quarterly award recognition through our Rise & Shine Award of Excellence Program, and our peer-to-peer appreciation platform.
