Remote Special Counsel, Employment Law (Arizona) $185K–$205K Base + Bonus | Unlimited PTO | No Business Development Elite Talent Consulting · Arizona, United States (Remote) Overview A highly respected national labor & employment law firm is seeking an Arizona-barred Special Counsel to support its growing employer-side practice. This role offers sophisticated employment litigation and counseling on a national platform—without any requirement for business development or originations. This is an exceptional opportunity for senior employment attorneys who want complex legal work, autonomy, and flexibility, while remaining part of a stable, well-resourced firm with a strong reputation in the market. This role is designed for senior, Arizona-barred employment litigators with meaningful law firm experience. Plaintiff-side and junior profiles will not be considered. Key Responsibilities You will independently manage employer-side matters, including: • EPLI-covered employment litigation • Single-plaintiff employment disputes • Administrative agency matters (EEOC, ACRD, DOL, etc.) • Attorney demand letters and pre-litigation strategy • Full litigation lifecycle: pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, and resolution • Strategic employment counseling and risk assessments for employer clients • Collaboration with a distributed national legal team and dedicated support staff • Occasional in-person hearings, mediations, or proceedings within Arizona, as needed Qualifications • 7–25 years of employment law experience • Strong employer-side employment litigation background (required) • Prior law firm experience required • Proven ability to manage matters autonomously from intake through resolution • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and client-facing communication skills • Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision • Active Arizona bar admission (required) • Additional state bar admissions are a plus, not required This role is best suited for attorneys operating at the Senior Counsel / Special Counsel level who are comfortable owning matters independently.
