The Optum WA Quality Improvement Team is seeking a Supervisor, QualitySenior Data Analyst to join their team full time. This is a remote position based out of the SeaTac, WA area. The Supervisor, QualitySenior Data Analyst functions as an integral member of the team and under minimal supervision, leads the Quality analytics program by ensuring team meetings productivity targets, delivers high quality and innovative analysis, and develops junior staff into strong analysts. Serves as subject matter expert on health care data analysis best practices within the company.Leads all analytics and data driven solutions by understanding and interpreting complex programs, initiatives, and data through the employment of advanced analytics techniques, business requirements gathering, project management techniques, business systems analysis, and reporting using a variety of reporting platforms, systems, sources, and data formats. The Quality Sr Data Analyst Supervisor will work closely within the Quality team and in collaboration with other technical, operational and clinical lane teams to understand business requirements, project deliverables, technical solutions, and short-term objectives and long-term goals.They will lead investigative analytics, the employment of statistical analytics, and technical solutions for all Quality programs. Along with Program Managers and leadership, they will lead the collaboration with other close business units on the program and project structures, data gathering and transformation methodology, and analytical standards to ensure reporting accuracy, data integrity, and process efficiency. They will lead and mentor other business analysts to prioritize asks, provide strategic recommendations, and to develop and drive Quality subject matter expertise and technical skills development.The Supervisor, QualitySenior Data Analyst is responsible for and not limited to:Essential Functions:• Leads the efforts to gather business requirements for the design, development, and enhancement of analytics, reporting, and data driven solutions for all Quality programs• Participates in strategic project initiatives, including the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support across the entire life cycle of the project or program• Analyzes complex datasets across disparate sources, and propose solutions and recommendations to both existing and new programs and projects• Develops standardized business processes to identify, document, and deliver on analytical and data driven solutions• Supervises the development and advancement of technical skillsets and business subject matter expertise of other business analysts and Quality team members• Develops and maintains knowledge of key performance indicators related to Quality including but not limited to CMS Stars, HEDIS, etc.• Supervises the development and progress of all investigative analytics and ad hoc requests both within the Quality team and in collaboration with other business units and technical teams• Partners with Quality leadership and associated business units to provide business insights, information, projections, and recommendations• Gathers, clearly defines and communicates business requirements and project goals• Develops methods to support the access, storage, and reporting of data sets that support project initiatives• Effectively visualizes and communicates the risks, insights, patterns, and trends from complex and disparate reports and sources, and provide recommendations based on subject matter expertise• Develops and conducts quality control audits and test requirements to ensure accuracy of data and expected outcomes of programs and projects• Identifies, corrects, and/or assists in resolution of project and program risks• Collaborates directly with internal and external business units to identify opportunities to enhance program outcomes• Performs data scrubbing, troubleshooting, quality checking, and usability analysis to identify anomalies which need to be addressed prior to delivery of program and initiative results.• Performs other duties as assigned. RequiredQualifications:Education:• College degree (B.A., B.S., or advanced degree) in economics, statistics, information technology, information systems, another relevant field, or demonstrated work experience equivalent. Experience:• Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing health care data, including analyzing medical claims, utilization and financial data• Experience in an agile environment• Intermediate toAdvanced skill level with bolthires SQL programming language• Intermediate toAdvanced skill level with bolthires Excel• Intermediate toAdvanced skill level with business intelligence platforms (PowerBI, SSRS, Crystal Reports, Tableau, MS Access etc.)• High working level and knowledge of bolthires software suite including Word, PowerPoint, Project, PowerPoint, Visio• Understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with medical records and healthcare information systemsVaccination Status:• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role.Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements.
