This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: Illinois (USA) Job Title: DB2 System Administrator Location: Remote (Plano, TX) Type: Contract Top Skills: • DB2 Administration / Upgrade (V12 or later) • Understand and follow IT processes including Change & Configuration, Problem, Incident and Service Readiness and other established team procedures (ITIL V3 certified) Job Responsibilities: • Install new, upgrade, migrate, consolidate and configure database Systems, services, settings, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project or operational requirements. • Maintain installation and configuration procedures. • Excellent skills on CA b2 products to IBM DB2 products(Log Analysis, Db2 admin tool, Db2 Query Monitor, Omegamon for Db2, High performance unload, Syncsort, Db2 Sort) migration. • Experience in converting CA Log analyzer report jobs to IBM Log analysis report jobs. • Support incident management processes including responding to alerts, 24x7x365 on-call and root cause analysis. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies through contacts with application support and Technical Operations Center • Apply database patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade Database administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary to maintain control, security and stability. • Assist in deployment, roll-out and maintenance of applications per project or operational needs. • Perform ongoing performance tuning, and resource optimization as required. • Configure databases memory, disk, and IO as required. Experience level: • 12+ years of professional work experience as a Mainframe DB2 System Programmer / Administrator. Technical key skills (Mandatory skills): • Candidates should possess strong knowledge on Mainframe DB2 v12, v13 Database System Programming/Administration. • Requires 24x7 support experience in a large production environment. • Excellent skills on customizing IBM Db2 products(Db2 Admin tool, Log analysis tool, Omegamon for DB2 Performance Expert, High Performance Unload, Query Monitor, Db2 Sort, Syncsort, ) • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills. • Good interpersonal Skills. • The candidate should have worked in a SLA driven environment. • Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented and constantly changing environment Tools and Technologies: • z/OS, SMP/E, SMS, DB2, Db2 Admin tool, Log analysis tool, Omegamon for DB2 Performance Expert, High Performance Unload, Query Monitor, Db2 Sort, Syncsort, DB2Connect.
