About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to customers, answering incoming calls related to the Department of Education's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and participating in outbound call campaigns. Key Responsibilities Participate in high-volume outbound and inbound call campaigns based on assigned call lists, ensuring consistent high-quality service to customers. Provide empathic support to customers, employing active listening skills to understand their needs and direct them to the appropriate party if necessary. Stay up-to-date with knowledge of the FAFSA, college financial aid, and admissions processes to provide informed support to customers. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Four to six months of customer service experience in a call center environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional phone voice and etiquette. Ability to follow instructions and scripts, with strong time management and decision-making skills. Proficient with computers, with good typing skills and the ability to navigate software and tools with ease. Knowledge of the FAFSA and college financial aid and admissions processes is highly desirable. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working in a college financial aid office or administrative office. Previous experience in a call center environment, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality customer service.
