Job Overview In this part-time WFH customer support representative role, you will be responsible for providing essential support to individuals enrolling in public benefit programs. Your primary goal will be to ensure that callers receive the assistance they need, making a positive impact on their well-being and peace of mind. This is a flexible, remote opportunity that pays $13 per hour, with a schedule of approximately 10-15 hours per week. You will have the freedom to choose your own schedule, within the client's hours of operation, allowing you to easily balance your work and personal life. Key Responsibilities Answering inbound calls and interacting with customers in a professional, empathetic, and compassionate manner Providing information in accordance with established policies, procedures, and privacy laws Assisting customers with program enrollment and routing them to the appropriate contacts via three-way calls Assisting customers with their communication needs, such as relay services for callers with speech or hearing impairments, and translation services for callers who don't speak English Placing outbound calls as needed to share time-sensitive information with customers Using multiple computer systems to access data and document information About You To be successful in this role, you should have at least one year of customer service experience. Knowledge of public benefit programs and prior experience in a health or human services setting is highly desirable, but not required. You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, great active listening skills, and strong attention to detail. Additionally, you should have: Strong PC skills, including the ability to quickly learn new computer applications A positive attitude, empathy, patience, and professionalism Strong multitasking skills and the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment The ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable programs, policies, and procedures Good problem-solving and de-escalation skills The ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Essential Qualifications In addition to the skills and competencies mentioned above, you should have: A high school diploma or equivalent At least one year of customer service experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Knowledge of public benefit programs and prior experience in a health or human services setting Experience working in a call center or customer service environment Bilingual or multilingual skills Your Home Office Environment To be a successful WFH customer support representative, you will need: A computer meeting the following criteria: Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (Macs and Chromebooks are not supported at this time) Memory: 8GB of RAM CPUs (Speed * Processors): 6 Hard Drive: At least 500MB of free space Sound: sound card (standard on most computers) Up-to-date antivirus software Access to high-speed, hardwired internet (no Wi-Fi or Satellite, please) Dual monitors A USB noise-cancelling headset A webcam for your certification experience Flexible Hours of Operation As a WFH customer support representative, you will enjoy flexible scheduling, using a self-scheduling platform to select when you work and when you don't, within the client's hours of operation. The hours of operation are: Monday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET Tuesday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 01:00 PM ET Thursday and Friday, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM ET Please note that Mondays and Tuesdays are particularly busy, and arenaflex requires that contractors service at least 5 hours on Mondays and at least 4 hours on Tuesdays. Pay and Perks This flexible opportunity pays independent contractors $13 per hour. As a remote, independent contractor, you will enjoy significant savings in expenses related to transportation, clothing, childcare or eldercare, and food.
