As a Customer Support Representative, you will be responsible for answering inbound calls, interacting with customers in a professional and empathetic manner, and providing information in accordance with established policies, procedures, and privacy laws. Key Responsibilities Answering inbound calls and interacting with customers in a professional, empathetic, and compassionate manner Providing information in accordance with established policies, procedures, and privacy laws Assisting customers with program enrollment and routing them to the appropriate contacts via three-way calls Assisting customers with their communication needs, such as relay services for callers with speech or hearing impairments and translation services for callers who don't speak English Placing outbound calls as needed to share time-sensitive information with customers Using multiple computer systems to access data and document information About You To be successful in this role, you should have at least one year of customer service experience. Knowledge of public benefit programs and prior experience in a health or human services setting is highly desirable, but not required. You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, great active listening skills, and strong attention to detail. Additionally, you should have: Strong PC skills, including the ability to quickly learn new computer applications A positive attitude and empathy, patience, and professionalism Strong multitasking skills and the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment The ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable programs, policies, and procedures Good problem-solving and de-escalation skills The ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Home Office Environment To be a Customer Support Representative, you will need a dedicated home office environment that meets the following requirements: A computer with Windows 10 or 11, 8GB of RAM, and a sound card Access to high-speed, hardwired internet Dual monitors A USB noise-cancelling headset A webcam for certification and training purposes Flexible Scheduling and Hours of Operation As a Customer Support Representative, you will enjoy flexible scheduling, with the ability to select your own hours of work within the client's hours of operation. The hours of operation are: Monday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET Tuesday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM ET Thursday and Friday, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM ET Please note that Mondays and Tuesdays are particularly busy, and you will be required to work at least 5 hours on Mondays and at least 4 hours on Tuesdays. Pay and Perks This flexible opportunity pays independent contractors $13 per hour.
