The Director, Business Development will serve as a senior client lead responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding relationships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences organizations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic growth plans across assigned accounts to identify and secure new business opportunities
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within client organizations
- Drive account growth through consultative selling, cross-selling, and integrated solution development across IQVIA capabilities
- Collaborate with proposal, contract, operational, and functional teams to develop compelling client solutions and sales strategies
- Lead client presentations and support sales pursuits from opportunity identification through contract execution
- Monitor customer satisfaction and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the client relationship lifecycle
- Maintain accurate sales activity reporting and opportunity management within CRM systems
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required
- 12+ years of professional experience, including significant experience in business development, sales, Medical Affairs, health communications, or commercial life sciences services
- Demonstrated success developing and managing relationships with senior and executive-level stakeholders
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process and drug development lifecycle
- Proven analytical and strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to translate client needs into business solutions
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment while managing multiple priorities
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Advanced degree preferred
- Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools is a plus
