They are seeking an experienced data privacy and cybersecurity attorney to create and maintain legal content and support the development of AI-powered legal solutions within their Practical Law Global Data Privacy & Cybersecurity team.
Responsibilities
- Researching, drafting, and maintaining clear, current, and practical data privacy & cybersecurity legal know-how content for Practical Law and other Thomson Reuters products and initiatives in alignment with market practice, customer needs, and business objectives, using a variety of evolving tools, formats, and content development methods
- Monitoring legal, practice, and market developments in data privacy & cybersecurity globally to ensure content remains relevant and accurate
- Using your legal expertise to support the development of customer-focused AI-powered tools, including identifying and implementing methods that address the intersection of content development and AI-driven legal solutions
- Partnering with Product Management to innovate on tech development, product enhancements, and the integration of AI into TR's offerings
- Using your legal expertise and writing skills to support the development and application of internal AI editorial tools
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with external law firm contributors and industry groups to ensure content reflects market practice and meets customer needs
- Supporting sales, marketing, and other parts of the business, including responding to customer inquiries
Skills
- JD required
- Minimum of eight (8) years' experience working as a lawyer in a law firm or in-house with experience in both US and non-US data privacy & cybersecurity matters, with a focus on compliance
- Strong technical skills and the ability to effectively utilize various tools, including generative AI technologies, to enhance productivity and accuracy
- Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to work on diverse projects and tasks within the generative AI space as well as new and emerging technologies
- Deep curiosity about the increasing intersection of AI and legal practice, with a desire to build legal prompt engineering skills and innovative content development methods that optimize AI responses for specific legal tasks
- Understand current market issues and proposals to enact, amend, or change data privacy & cybersecurity laws and regulations
- Understand the needs and priorities of law firm attorneys, in-house counsel, and other data privacy & cybersecurity compliance professionals
- Skill and passion for writing and the ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and concisely in plain English
- Innovative, agile thinker with excellent time management, organizational skills, and demonstrated project management
- Enthusiasm for working on a dynamic editorial team, comfortable working in an environment of rapid change, and a passion for exploring how AI can revolutionize editorial content creation
- Experience managing complex, global privacy compliance matters under data protection laws in the EU, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America a plus
