Experienced Mental Health Crisis Specialist for 988 Chat/Text Services – Remote Opportunity for Compassionate Professionals

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and experienced mental health professional to join our 24/7/365 crisis team as a 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist. This remote position is available for a mid-shift schedule, working 10am-6:30pm central time, Thursday through Monday, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. As a vital member of our team, you will provide brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988. Key Responsibilities Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals in crisis Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide Maintain ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation requirements Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings Assist with administrative tasks as needed Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, psychology, social work, or a related field, or be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Six months to one year of related crisis experience Effective communication skills via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods High-level customer service skills and professional etiquette Demonstrated knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and community resources Knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention skills Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a crisis or mental health setting Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and principles Knowledge of local community resources and services Bilingual or multilingual skills Career Growth and Development At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
