Job Overview The Director Data Science position at arenaflex will lead the Global Data Strategy group within Risk Finance, focusing on building and maintaining centralized reporting capabilities, implementing process enhancements and automation, and driving innovative data solutions to deliver robust forecasts and analytics for the wider Risk Finance organization. Key Responsibilities Lead the strategic analysis of arenaflex credit metrics, credit provision, and reserve for Senior Management in Risk and Finance, providing actionable insights and recommendations that inform business decisions Own and manage specific data assets/packages within Risk Finance, becoming a power user of relevant tools and technologies, troubleshooting issues, reconciling results, identifying opportunities for enhancements and automation, and training other users to drive adoption Develop and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports used by Risk Finance and/or business partners, offering credit-related analytical support and ensuring that stakeholders have access to timely and accurate information Develop and present key analyses and recommendations to Senior Management, communicating complex data insights and ideas in a clear and concise manner Build and maintain relationships across Risk Finance portfolio groups and with partners in Risk, Controllership, Tech, and other areas, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing Provide decision-aid with a strong emphasis on developing analytics that identify trends and opportunities in the portfolio, which can be used to optimize Business and Risk decisions Essential Qualifications Advanced experience working with most of the following is required: SQL/Hive, Power BI/Tableau, Python/R, VBA, TM1, demonstrating a strong foundation in data analysis and manipulation Experience working with a sophisticated level of Excel and PowerPoint required, with the ability to create complex models, dashboards, and presentations that communicate insights effectively Experience in ML modeling is a plus, with a strong understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques Solid financial and analytical skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and draw meaningful conclusions, empowering business partners to make informed, data-driven decisions Superior attention to detail, alongside exemplary organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work within tight timelines Must be results-driven and proactive, with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills, showcasing the ability to build and maintain relationships and collaborate effectively with team members to achieve goals Master's degree in advanced mathematics or statistical discipline required, with a strong academic foundation in quantitative analysis and data science Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Strong understanding of risk management and finance concepts, with the ability to apply data science techniques to drive business outcomes Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and tools, with a strong understanding of data architecture and engineering principles Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees, providing opportunities for continuous learning and professional development.
